Our Story
We started this cozy company because we had a simple need: to keep mittens together.
Year after year, my second graders were searching for lost mittens while getting ready for recess. Our school’s lost and found was overflowing with lonely mittens with no matches. Parents were buying multiple pairs each year. Those chilly fingers needed cozy mittens that would actually stay together for the whole winter season.
So, I decided to try something new.
At my kitchen table, I began making pairs of magnetic mittens for my own second graders. During the last blizzard, I made the biggest batch ever! I wanted to get magnetic mittens into everyone’s hands in time to play in the snow.
Magnetic Mittens is a woman-owned company started by a second grade teacher from East Lansing, Michigan. Ms. Morrissey has taught in many cold places and is proud to have created a simple solution to prevent lost mittens and gloves.
